License

The core engine (calendaryjs) is licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. It is free for any noncommercial purpose — personal projects, research, study, hobby and amateur work, religious observance, and use by nonprofits, schools, or government.

The official plugins (lunar, hijri, liturgical, ics) are MIT-licensed. They require the core to run, so commercial use of the combined work still needs a commercial license for the core.

Commercial use requires a commercial license. Commercial use includes running calendaryjs in or for a product, service, or revenue-generating site — including ad-supported sites and internal business tooling.

  1. Email license@calendaryjs.dev with: your company, what you’re building, how calendaryjs is used, and rough scale (team size / number of products / deployment).
  2. You’ll get a quote and a short license agreement.
  3. On agreement + payment, you receive the signed commercial license. You keep using the same npm package — the license is the legal grant, not a different build.
